Today, with the rapid advancement of satellite technology, the world can see all the television programs worldwide. You can even view the TV coverage live major sporting events in the comfort of your home.

To watch satellite TV, you need specialized equipment, said the cards PCTV installed on your PC to receive satellite TV. There are 2 types, one is external, the other is internal. External PCTV cards generally come in a box where you can connect to the PC via USB. The other end is connected to the telephone line or cable line depending on the type of broadband subscribe. Wireless versions are also available.

The internal card CPVT is installed on your computer via PCI or PCI Express.

PCTV cards are analog signals to decode signals digital so you can watch TV or listen to radio on your PC.

The quality of television depends on 2 factors.

1) broadband speed wide

To enjoy high quality TV on your PC, you really need to have DSL broadband speeds or speed of at least 512 kilobytes per second. More broadband speed smooth channels with satellite TV quality.

2) Computer Configuration

Most cards PCTV has a minimum PC configuration. In general, you need a Pentium III processor at 1 GHz or higher Minimum 128 MB RAM, Windows 98/2000/XP and have at least 1 USB port for external PCTV cards. It would also require a CD-ROM to install the drivers for the PCTV and visualization software. You also need a card sound installed on your PC if you want the audio.

Some PCTV card also allows the ability to record programs on your computer, but keep in mind, it requires great amount of available storage space on your hard drive.
